Prior to joining CygNet, Rowley was director of quality assurance for Wonderware’s supervisory control and HMI products.

Aug 16, 2010 – CygNet Software appointed Kevin Rowley vice president of engineering. Rowley reports to President and CEO Chris Smith and is responsible for expanding the company’s development organization and introducing new technologies and products for oil and gas markets. “CygNet’s continued growth is fueled through the enhancement of our current offerings and the development of additional vertical applications. Our leadership position in gas production, and our growth in the gas transmission segment, continues to drive our investment in the expertise necessary to develop and refine our offerings,” said Chris Smith, president and CEO of CygNet Software. “To accomplish this, we needed an experienced executive who could lead our development strategy, organization and processes.

Kevin brings 25 years of experience developing enterprise software products for the manufacturing and process industries, including oil and gas, making him the ideal person to drive this effort.”Prior to joining CygNet, Rowley held a number of senior leadership positions at the Wonderware unit of Invensys, where he was most recently director of quality assurance for the company’s supervisory control and HMI products. Prior to that role, he held several management and technical leadership positions, including lead architect on the company’s next-generation supervisory control platform.

Prior to Invensys, Rowley was a lead engineer at Chevron Research and Technology, where he was responsible for the design and implementation of SCADA systems within Chevron’s domestic refinery and pipeline operations. Kevin holds a bachelor of science degree in chemical engineering from Virginia Tech and an M.B.A. from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs.

“CygNet’s powerful enterprise SCADA platform transforms oil and gas companies, and its unique, vertically-oriented product strategy delivers tremendous value to its customers, including simplicity, flexibility and ease of use,” said Rowley. “I look forward to working with the outstanding CygNet team to expand the engineering organization and deliver the new technologies and products that will drive future growth.”
