Datalogic introduces its new pocket-sized Windows – powered mobile computer: the Datalogic Memor. Bologna – November 30, 2006 - The new Datalogic Memor pocket-sized Windows-powered mobile computer is an extremely compact, lightweight, versatile and robust device that combines integrated bar code reading and wireless communication capabilities. It is the best solution for entry-level data collection applications in the retail market that need a compact, cost-effective device with up-to-date technologies, as well as in light industrial environments for typical operations such as warehouse management, inventory, picking, shipping, receiving, etc. The Datalogic Memor is small and slim to reduce operator fatigue and can be used single-handed.

It operates with Microsoft Windows CE 5.0 operating system and an Intel XScale microprocessor. A large memory on board stores applications and data which can be backed-up via a user-accessible SD card slot.

Integrated bar code reading and wireless communication capabilities (IEEE 802.11b/g or IEEE 802.15 Bluetooth) enable immediate access to any infrastructure as well as any Bluetooth peripheral. The mobile computer resists unintentional drops and exposure to dust and water, and its resistant outer casing makes it suitable for indoor and outdoor use. Additionally, the sharp and brilliant colour QVGA display enables it to be used in any light condition, and the touch-screen function provides an additional benefit.

An intuitive keypad with a familiar “cellular-phone” layout enables data to be input quickly while the joystick can be used to select items and enter information. The Datalogic Memor is ready-to-use as it is supplied with power supply and mini USB cable as well as a set of free-of-charge software installed for standard terminal emulation connectivity, standard/full screen Web applications as well as application and device configuration management. A full set of accessories is available to complete the offer including a cradle with slot for spare battery recharging. Datalogic is the largest European manufacturer of CCD and laser-based bar code readers and mobile computers.

The vast range of Datalogic products includes both manual readers and fixed industrial scanners that can satisfy any application need, particularly in the manufacturing, transportation and logistics, and distribution and retail industries. With their advanced technology, intelligent design, and solid reliability, Datalogic products have been setting the industry standard for over 30 years. Datalogic is present in the promising RFID market via its subsidiary EMS Inc. (Scotts Valley California) with a leading position in the automotive sector, electronic manufacturers and warehouse management systems (WMS). In addition, with the recent acquisition of Laservall, the Group has entered the laser marking sector, that features extensive applications and outstanding growth prospects.

Datalogic is quoted on the Milan Stock Exchange, and in 2005 produced revenues of Euro 205.9 million, of which over 80% is made abroad. It employs around 1800 staff world-wide and has its headquarters close to Bologna, Italy.
