LED solution to replace incandescent bulbs in most stack lights and signal towersEL SEGUNDO, Calif. (October 20, 2006) — DDP has developed an LED-based stack light lamp designed to provide clear and distinct visual indication of machine status from anywhere on a factory or office floor. Designated the SL3 Series stack light, the lamp provides 360 of visibility, even in high ambient lighting conditions. Ideal for retrofits, the SL3 is designed as a drop-in replacement for a variety of incandescent bulb-based stack lights and signal towers. Offered in 12VAC/DC, 24VAC/DC and 120VAC, the stack light lamp features a rugged shock and vibration resistive design making the lamp suitable for harsh industrial applications.

The SL3 Series utilizes a shunt resistor to reduce false indication from PLC leakage currents and other circuit protection devices to protect the lamp from voltage surges and ESD damage. “The SL3 LED stack light combines high efficiency and low power consumption to provide a high performance, cost saving indication device that allows for easy retrofitting of incandescent lamps,” said Tony Toniolo, DDP President.

“The added circuit protection design prevents the lamp from over-voltage, reverse polarity, and electro-static discharge, extending the life of the lamp and reducing maintenance costs.”Available in red, yellow, green, blue and white, the SL3s small 15mm diameter fresnel lens and selection of base styles allows simple installation in a variety for 30mm, 50mm and 70mm stack lights. The SL3 offers up to 100,000 hours of maintenance free service, ensuring that manufacturing operating conditions are safe. The SL3 Series LED stack light is available T-4 ½ candelabra screw base, single and double-contact bayonet base LED lamps. DDP engineered LED stack light solutions are available in either standard or custom assemblies.

Pricing typically starts at $10.50 in quantities of 1,000. Samples are available from DDP with a typical lead-time of 1 week.
