The Profibus adapter now supports Siemens Simatic S7-300 and S7-400 PLCs.

May 23, 2012 - Deltalogic Automatisierungstechnik enhances Accon-NetLink adapters to support Siemens Totally Integrated Automation Portal (TIA portal) for Simatic S7-300 and S7-400. The Accon-S7-NET driver for the Accon-NetLink-PRO compact and Accon-NetLink-USB compact adapters supports the TIA portal in the 32-bit version. Deltalogic now also provides the Accon-S7-NET driver for the 64-bit version of the Siemens SIMATIC STEP7 V5.5 programming software. In the future, users of these programming environments will also be able to utilize the benefits of the high-performance communication and programming adapters between PCs and S7 controllers.

The Accon-NetLink-PRO compact is an improved version of the Accon-NetLink-PRO adapter. As with the Accon-NetLink-USB compact, all of the electronics are in the compact case of a Profibus connector, thus creating a space-saving and lightweight solution. Both adapters can be connected to the PLC via MPI, Profibus and PPI, and the devices can automatically detect the current bus settings. There are a variety of possible applications, from programming a PLC program through visualization via HMI equipment and WinCC flexible, right up to configuring slaves via DP-V1 (Class 2). The adapters support all current SIMATIC engineering toolsets.

The Accon-NetLink-PRO compact communicates with the PC via TCP/IP and can also be used to maintain the PLC remotely via router, intranet and internet (VPN). This means that it is universally accessible and prevents the user from having to travel to the site to access the PLC. S7 data can also be logged via TCP/IP, e.g. using Deltalogic's easy-to-operate Accon-S7-EasyLog data logger.

The user can configure the Accon-NetLink-PRO compact quickly and easily via its integrated, password-protected website. Power is supplied via the connected bus or alternatively via an external 24 V DC power supply. In the Accon-NetLink-USB compact both the power supply and communication are via USB. The user can make the most of the fact that he can insert the adapter in any MPI or Profibus without worrying about the interface assignment.
