Deutsche Messe expanded its office premises in Tokyo and signed a representative for Indonesia.

July 27, 2011 - Deutsche Messe AG is stepping up its commitment to the Asia-Pacific Region with new, larger office premises in Tokyo for its Japanese subsidiary and a new exclusive local representative for Indonesia. Japan remains an immensely important market for Deutsche Messe’s trade fair events, particularly its flagship CeBIT and HANNOVER MESSE shows. This key status will be more aptly reflected the by larger, more prestigious office premises. The relocation is scheduled for early August this year. In addition, Deutsche Messe’s Japanese subsidiary is changing its name from Deutsche Messe Japan to Hannover Fairs Japan in order to take advantage of HANNOVER MESSE’s strong brand recognition in the Japanese market.

Deutsche Messe’s Tokyo office is currently staffed by a team of four. Deutsche Messe’s interests in Indonesia will from now on be represented exclusively by PT Pro Fair Indonesia. PT Pro Fair is headquartered in downtown Jakarta and is headed by seasoned trade fair expert Paula Yahya. Up until now, Deutsche Messe’s presence in Indonesia has been maintained via the German-Indonesian Chamber of Industry and Commerce (EKONID). The changeover comes in response to the rapid growth of the Indonesian market and Indonesia’s growing importance for Deutsche Messe’s trade fairs worldwide.

Deutsche Messe is also expanding its Hannover-based field service support team with a direct contact person for its foreign representatives in the Asia-Pacific region. The new role has been entrusted to Julia Zimpel. Ms. Zimpel holds degrees in Southeast Asian studies and Japanese and has previously worked in a number of senior positions in the Asia-Pacific region.
