Deutschmann adds PROFINET to ROTARNOCK cam controls
ROTARNOCK 80 and ROTARNOCK 100 electronic cam controls are now available with a PROFINET interface.

June 1, 2011 - ROTARNOCK 80 and ROTARNOCK 100 electronic cam controls from Deutschmann Automation are now also available with a PROFINET interface. The device can be operated via an easy-to-use PC user interface, a PROFINET control, or via one of the high-performance terminals from Deutschmann’s TERM series.

All models can be very easily connected to Siemens Simatic S7 and other PLCs and soft PLCs. The cam control communicates with the PLC via a data module. Users can generate the module for S7 themselves, using the free-of-charge data module generator.

Deutschmann has developed an innovative design for the ROTARNOCK series of electronic cam controls: the cam control is integrated into the housing of the absolute encoder. Due to the complete integration, the encoder does not need to be wired. The cam control’s outputs are applied to the connector. With a 360 pulses per revolution resolution, eight switching outputs, and bitwise idle time compensation, ROTARNOCK 80 is suitable for a wide range of standard applications. .

The high-end ROTARNOCK 100 cam control provides a 4.096 pulses per revolution resolution and features 16 outputs. Control cabinet installation costs are decreased due to the switching outputs’ high ampacity of 700 mA.

The basic version of Deutschmann’s WINLOC 32 software provides a simple graphic user interface for programming ROTARNOCK on Microsoft Windows XP. Additional features of the comfort version include online visualization of switching statuses, the possibility of transmitting data from one cam control to others, teach-in functionality, and a function for comparing various cam controls. Users can print the complete documentation including all device data or any set of data.
