Dynomax introduces robot spindle at IMTS

25 July, 2006
In cooperation with Fanuc Robotics' America, Inc., Dynomax will demonstrate the flexibility and durability of its robotic arm spindle line equipped with superior contamination protection on Fanuc's material removal robots during the 2006 International Machine Tool Show (IMTS).

MUNDELEIN, IL - July 25, 2006 - In cooperation with Fanuc Robotics' America, Inc., Dynomax will demonstrate the flexibility and durability of its robotic arm spindle line equipped with superior contamination protection on Fanuc's material removal robots during the 2006 International Machine Tool Show (IMTS). As a result of several successful projects together, the two companies have joined forces and will demonstrate their unique capabilities September 6-13, 2006, at booth A-8418 in the south hall of Chicago's McCormick Convention Center.

The 14-2A-C-1370 spindle, scheduled to be displayed on a F-200i robot, is a member of the popular robotic arm series of high performance spindles with low weights (to minimize payloads) designed for robotic material removal on a wide range of Fanuc robots, including the F-200iB, M-16iB, M-710iB, M-900iA, R-2000iA and S-500iB series. Using Fanuc's high performance and precision systems, the duo creates a robotic system that saves time and costs without endangering product quality. The 14-2A-C-1370 spindle is one of more than 50 spindles that are part of Dynomax's robotic arm spindle line.

In addition to a robust design these compact and lightweight spindles offer superior contamination protection for any variety of working positions offering manufacturers flexibility within a robotic system. As standard Dynomax's robotic arm spindles offer:

  • Lightweight construction to minimize payload stress to robot
  • Air purge and labyrinth sealing to minimize threats of contamination
  • Ceramic bearings to extend life and allow higher speed operation
  • Water cooling to extend spindle life
  • Automatic drawbar for quick tool change "Robotic material removal is the next generation of machining.

It was a natural step for us to develop a line of spindles that addressed the unique needs of robotic machining; lightweight construction to minimize payload stress, high degrees of contamination protection and operation from a number of angles," stated Senior Engineer Marin Marinic.

Dynomax offers dozens of spindles designed for robotic applications.

About DYNOMAX, INC. Dynomax, an ISO 9001:2000 Registered Company, offers manufacturers' the design, manufacturing, and service of machine tool spindles.
