April 15, 2010 - e-con Systems released the Rapid Development kit code named Alioth for their eSOM300 system on module. eSOM300 consists of XScale PXA300 ultra low power microprocessor, MDDR SDRAM, flash memory, power management IC, Ethernet, Camera Interface. This release is a generic platform to get customer application development started. Alioth is unique when compared with its market leading cousin Regulus – eSOM270 Reference design in terms of application-specific carrier board, specifically designed for Industrial applications like Industrial Controllers, In-Vehicle Telematics, Vehicle Mount Systems, Test & Measurement Equipment, Mobile devices and MIDs WebPads.
The Alioth board supports peripherals like CAN controller, 8 channel 16 bit ADC controller, Analog VGA, USB 2.0 host and RS485. Optionally, customers can choose to have a LCD of 4.3” (480x272) / 7” (800x480) with Touch screen.
As part of the rapid development kit, e-con Systems provides detailed schematics, hardware user manual, Bill of material, application notes to help the customers design their custom board faster and therefore speed up the time to market.e-con Systems provides a production ready Windows CE 6.0 R3 BSP for the Alioth rapid development kit. The BSP is available with the device drivers for all peripherals and is completely customizable.
