The narrow frame is more than eight-inches smaller in width than the current Magnum 4000A frame, and can be applied in 30-inch structures rather than 44-inch structures.

July 23, 2009 - Eaton announced the 4000 amp (A) narrow frame power and air circuit breaker, from the Magnum DS product line. The 26-inch wide Magnum 4000A narrow breaker allows original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to use smaller enclosures while providing enhanced safety with high-level performance to meet global application requirements. With both a new compact size and weight, the Magnum 4000A narrow offers a spectrum of innovations and advantages. The new narrow frame is more than eight-inches smaller in width than the current Magnum 4000A frame, and can be applied in 30-inch structures rather than 44-inch structures; thereby reducing the width of the gear by 14 inches.

It uses Digitrip trip unit technology, featuring Zone Selective Interlocking and Arcflash Reduction Maintenance System technology. Further, there are internationally approved factory-installed and field-installable accessories with four auxiliary switches available. The 4000A narrow frame features communications with translators to common protocols, including: INCOM, Modbus and PROFIBUS.The Magnum 4000A narrow breaker meets the application needs for Underwriters Laboratories (UL) 1066 switchgear and switchboard applications and International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) 60947-2 control and switchgear applications. It is both American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and UL approved.
