The collaboration encompasses the hardware, software and engineering services needed to assess risk, monitor networks and manage security.

Power management company Eaton and Tenable, Inc. , the Cyber Exposure company, announced a new cybersecurity partnership to help customers secure critical power system and industrial control environments. The collaboration leverages Eaton’s deep domain knowledge of electrical systems and industrial environments with Tenable’s market-leading solutions to provide expansive IT/OT cybersecurity management. Analysts predict the global number of Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) connections will reach 37 billion by 2025. As electrical systems and industrial control equipment become more connected, a robust cybersecurity program requires coordination between operational technology (OT) and information technology (IT) departments.

Eaton and Tenable are addressing this challenge by providing customers with a turnkey solution to determine potential vulnerabilities, prioritize remediation and continuously monitor the ongoing security of critical assets through existing IT and OT networks. “Recent cyber-attacks highlight the increasing importance of integrating cybersecurity into organizational maintenance strategies,” said Reid Vance, director of power system automation and cybersecurity services at Eaton. “By partnering with Tenable, we’re able to pair Eaton’s 100-year plus experience in power systems with Tenable’s deep expertise in securing converged IT/OT environments to give customers a single pane of glass to view their critical power environments and industrial control systems.”

Under the joint solution offering, Eaton will provide comprehensive turn-key cybersecurity services that include design, deployment and maintenance of critical power and OT/industrial control systems (ICS) based upon the company’s Secure Development Lifecycle process (SDLC) . “Tenable’s innovative solutions enable customers to understand and address cyber exposure across their converged IT/OT environments in a holistic and prioritized fashion,” said Terry Dolce, senior vice president, Global Business Development and Channels, Tenable. “We look forward to working with Eaton to help our mutual customers protect their converged environments from cyber threats.”

Tenable.ot with Nessus unifies IT and OT security in an integrated solution that eliminates traditional blind spots and potential security risk to ensure operational safety and reliability.

Tenable.ot fully integrates with  Tenable.sc and Tenable.io for full visibility, security and control across converged operations.

Tenable.ot also works in conjunction with Tenable.ad to identify Active Directory misconfigurations and threats which can result in ransomware attacks in OT environments. Eaton recently hosted two Cybersecurity Perspectives panel discussions focused on critical infrastructure security and lifecycle maintenance for operational technology. The forums are available to stream on-demand and feature insights from Eaton and Tenable experts as well as leaders from Cleveland Clinic, Johnson Controls and UL.
