Galileo 8.0 software for the XV Series of human machine interfaces (HMI) features data bridge functionality and multiple programmable logic controller (PLC) communication driver support.

May 9, 2013 - Eaton introducing a new software platform for the XV Series of human machine interfaces (HMI). Already available in Europe, the powerful Galileo 8.0 software is designed to help original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) expedite time to market with an easy-to-learn operator interface project design environment. In addition to Galileo, Eaton is introducing six new XV models. As part of a broad range of Eaton solutions for global OEMs, Galileo software provides robust project design tools and functionality without graduated restrictions on tags and screens.

The software features data bridge functionality and multiple programmable logic controller (PLC) communication driver support. The user-friendly project design environment incorporates project simulation on the development computer. The graphical user interface is designed to be an easy-to-learn experience and includes a project overview window. PLC variables and help screens are designed for accessibility and import ease. The Galileo software also includes various interface styles, extensive recipe and alarm handling, enhanced password handling, as well as convenient series assignment of texts and images to tags.

Additionally, there are six new XV models for Galileo now available in North America. These XV Series units will be available in 3.5, 5.7, and 7.0-inch screen sizes.
