February 29, 2012 - Edmund Optics introduces Power over Ethernet (PoE) Cameras. These cameras are designed to simplify a wide variety of machine vision applications including factory floor automation and imaging systems. Each power over Ethernet (PoE) Camera includes software that allows the customer to set area of interest (AOI), gain, exposure, white balance, frame rate, trigger delay, and digital output (flash) delay and duration. This software can also implement edge enhancement, image mirroring and binning and hot pixel correction. The Power over Ethernet (PoE) Camera is manufactured using an ultra-compact housing design for use where space is at a premium.

The camera is powered by either a PoE injector, which requires two GigE cables, or a PoE Computer Card. A software interface is designed for ease-of-use. The camera can capture images in JPEG, Bitmap or AVI format for maximum versatility. Drivers for Direct Show (WDM), ActiveX and TWAIN are included.

The Power over Ethernet (PoE) Camera is available in 1/1.8 in., 1/2 in., and 1/3 in. sizes, in both color and monochrome models.

The PoE interface meets IEEE 802.3af and the camera is CE, RoHS and GenICam compliant. Optional equipment is also offered, including a 1/4-20 Mounting adapter, a 5 m trigger cable and a PCIe Board for two cameras.
