February 26, 2009 - EA120P 13 bit absolute version of a large through hollow shaft encoder (up to 50 mm or 2“) is available for precise position control applications.Built around the popular EL120P incremental design, the EA120P absolute encoder from Eltra incorporates many of the same features, including a variety of shaft bores, several output options (cable or various connectors are available) and SSI or ICO communication protocols.
The encoder carries an IP54 housing rating and operates from 0º to 60º C.EA120P series also offer the remote zeroing feature in the SSI version: the user can set the zero position during installation or re-calibration by controlling the voltage level of the dedicated signal with no need to be next to the machinery.Hollow shaft encoders are particularly suited for installations that have limited axial space on the shaft such as textile machinery and traction machines. With an overall installed length of about 70 mm, the EA120P absolute encoder represents a very compact solution.
