BOULDER, COLORADO (August 21, 2007) - AMS Suite: Intelligent Device Manager 9.0 includes the Meter Verification SNAP-ON application for Micro Motion ELITE Coriolis meters, enabling users to undertake a full in-situ assessment of meters, from electronics through sensor, to determine health without stopping the process flow or removing the meter from the line. The Meter Verification SNAP-ON application facilitates real-time communication with Micro Motion Coriolis meters to assess meter calibration and health. The self-verification technique found in Micro Motion meters, and enabled by Emerson's next-generation MVDT (multivariable digital) technology, dramatically reduces flow metering validation efforts and expense.
Supporting predictive maintenance capabilities help users address meter health issues before operations are interrupted.By leveraging the diagnostic capabilities of AMS Device Manager, the Meter Verification SNAP-ON application delivers a powerful diagnostic tool for verifying, trending, and reporting meter health and performance. Verification can be scheduled to run on any recurring daily, weekly or monthly schedule. The Meter Verification SNAP-ON application can be launched from AMS Device Manager at any time, while the meter is full or empty, flowing or not-flowing. The application checks and captures device configuration and zero calibration level, as well as sensor structure, electronics and signal processing for a complete verification of meter performance.
This real-time, on-demand assessment takes under 5 minutes to perform. The Meter Verification SNAP-ON application communicates with Micro Motion ELITE series flowmeters using the HART communication protocol over existing 4-20 mA signal cabling.Emerson's Micro Motion ELITE Coriolis meters with meter verification technology deliver full health data faster and easier than traditional verification methods. Operators and plant engineers can perform the test in less than five minutes without stopping the process or purchasing and installing secondary references.
If customers can predict when a flowmeter will need to be repaired, re-calibrated or replaced, they can move their maintenance activities from a reactive to a proactive mode, reducing downtime, increasing plant safety and improving product quality. Emerson's meter verification capability is only available on the Micro Motion ELITE flowmeter with next generation MVD technology. Micro Motion is the Coriolis leader in quality, measurement performance, and reliability, and is part of Emerson's broad range of intelligent, digital field devices that power the PlantWeb digital plant architecture. Further cost savings, increased plant availability, and enhanced safety and environmental compliance are achieved when the flowmeters are integrated into the PlantWeb digital plant architecture.
