March 24, 2010 – Emerson Process Management will host the fifth in its series of regional alternative fuel and energy summits on Tuesday, April 13, in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The summit will address recommendations to help drive the successful commercialization of alternative fuels. “With a level funding field, good technology and smart plant design and engineering, advanced biofuel processes are well-positioned to produce premium fuels that are competitive with traditional oil and natural gas based products.
These alternative fuels could supply up to 20 percent of the U.S. fuel needs by 2020,” says Alan Novak, director of alternative fuels for Emerson Process Management. “This summit will look at contemporary technologies, feedstock issues, governmental and legislative support, and how to leverage best practices from related industries to reduce risks, lower costs of production, and ensure the commercial viability of this burgeoning industry.”Presenters for the Cambridge summit include:

Emerson Process Management has held Alternative Fuels Summits in Madison, Wis., Denver, Atlanta and Houston.
