March 29, 2011 — Emerson Network Power will distribute VYCON’S clean energy VDC and VDC-XE flywheel power systems with its Liebert branded uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems to protect mission-critical customers against the damaging effects of power problems in a clean and sustainable way.
Under the agreement, Emerson Network Power will offer VYCON’s innovative and highly efficient Voltage Direct Connect (VDC) flywheel systems as an alternative or complement to lead-acid batteries used with three-phase Liebert UPS systems, such as the Liebert NXL, Liebert NX, Liebert Npower, and Liebert Series 610. The VDC will provide customers with a battery-free, environmentally friendly alternative by providing sufficient ride-through for short duration power outages and/or bridging time until a standby engine-generator can come on line. During the second half of 2010, various Liebert UPS models were extensively tested at VYCON’s Yorba Linda, Calif., facility.
