December 14, 2010 - State Nuclear Power Engineering Corporation (SNPEC) of China has awarded Emerson Process Management a multi-million dollar purchase order for critical Fisher control valves to be used in Westinghouse AP1000 pressurized water reactors at both the Sanmen 2 and Haiyang 2 nuclear power plants. SNPEC chose Emerson for this important application based on its nuclear valve experience and proven control valve designs. Emerson's Fisher SS84 valves will be used in the AP1000 plants' pressurizer spray system, which helps to maintain reactor coolant temperature.
The SS84 valves are updated models designed to provide even easier maintenance and longer service life.For over 35 years, Emerson has supported nuclear facilities worldwide with Fisher nuclear valves and associated services. In fact, Fisher valves are installed in over 90% of the world’s nuclear facilities. To date, thousands of Fisher ASME Section III N-Stamped and RCCM process control valves have been installed around the globe.
