ROHNERT PARK, CA -- Empire Magnetics introduces commercial-grade VC series Vacuum Motors designed to survive pressures as low as 10-6 Torr. These motors are temperature-rated at 130°C internal, and 105°C for the case. Bearing lubricant vapor pressure is below 10-6 Torr at 100°C. The VC series are available as stepper, hollow-shaft, brushless servo or rotor nut motors. They are also available in a variety of frame sizes to provide long life and reliable operation in various commercial grade vacuum applications.

Examples include metal casting, assemblies welding, and forming applications where motion components are incorporated into the molds. In these applications, where outgassing and contamination are not critical factors, Empire’s lower cost VC grade products are ideal. Vacuum-rated stepper motors or servo systems can reduce mechanical complexity and increase system uptime in transport systems that are commonly used in applications with vacuum ovens and vacuum deposition systems. In addition to greater reliability, such systems typically provide greater accuracy and throughput than alternative designs.Empire Magnetics is a leading supplier of specialty motor products, motion control systems and support services to a variety of North American and international manufacturers.
