Encoder Technology announces the availability of an incremental encoder designed for applications with large motors. The HS0102-5000 encoder can accept shaft diameters up to 2.625” diameter. This encoder was specifically designed for feedback of overhead crane position and is suitable for reliable feedback when mounted on large shafts in most industrial applications. The HS0102-5000 encoder is 6” in diameter and 2” high.
The encoder resolution is 5000 counts per turn in quadrature so the signals can be multiplied by 4 if desired. This particular encoder has a –20 to +85 degree centigrade operating temperature range which can be expanded for other requirements. The mechanical housing is normally supplied with a hard anodized finish and also includes an anti-rotation pin.
