Carpinteria, CA. May 1, 2008 - Essex Electronics introduces an RS-485 Output Keypad to its’ KTP Series line of Industry Standard Readers. The KTP Series 12 Pad 3x4 features no moving parts, rugged stainless steel construction and circuit assembly encapsulation to ensure performance in high use or harsh environments. Ideal for process control equipment and SCADA systems, the KTP-485 Keypad is designed to provide bi-directional serial communications protocol in Hexadecimal 7 bit ASCII data.
Configurable in the field, up to 128 keypads can be added on the RS-485 network with selectable parity and baud rates up to 115.2 kbps. Data can be transferred using either Polling Mode for complete master bus control or Event Mode which provides asynchronous data transfers on the bus. The RS-485 connection is slew rate limited and provided with +/- 15KV ESD protection. Keypad available with 316L Stainless Steel, Black, Brass Finished or no bezel.
