Taipei, Taiwan, April 19, 2007 – Ethernet Direct introduces Modbus gateway and data acquisition modules.The RUM series modules support the Modbus RTU protocol. Modbus gateway provides communication between Ethernet and serial Modbus devices. Modbus is one of the most popular industrial control and data acquisition protocol. The communication baud rates of RUM series products range from 1,200 bps to 115,200 bps.

Modbus TCP sets up a point to point connection. To communicate with multiple slave devices, different TCP/IP connection is needed for each slave device. The BMM series MODBUS gateway allows the legacy MODBUS RTU/ASCII devices to operate on a MODBUS TCP network.It allows either MODBUS serial master or slave to communicate with MODBUS TCP’s slave or master.
