November 8, 2011 – eWON announces that the 2G (GPRS/EDGE) version of its 2005CD industrial router is to be replaced by a new 3G (UMTS) version, at the same price. The replacement will be effective as of November 1st 2011. 3G technology step up lets the eWON 2005CD multiply the bandwidth available for communication, offering users, typically machine builders & OEMs, the benefits of more fluidity in interactive PLC program maintenance and more convenience in remote customer support . Both the eWON 2005CD 3G and 3G+ models require standard SIM cards and are backward compatible with 2G networks (GPRS & EDGE). Remote access is facilitated by the use of Talk2M, a cloud-based service making remote access across the Internet as easy as dialing up a modem.
