ROCHESTER, NY—July 15, 2005—With release of version 5.4, users of EXELE’s TopView alarm display and notification software can now create their own spoken announcements—they simply type the text of whatever alarm message they want to hear and link it to an event or alarm condition that they define. Whenever that condition occurs, they are notified by voice, either by phone or on the speakers of their PC. The easily configured EXELE TopView software demonstrates that ease of use and powerful functionality can co-exist in the same package. This powerful and flexible process alarming tool has the capabilities and multiple notification methods to enable you to respond quickly to whatever abnormal process conditions you want—but is simply configured by any user who knows how to use a Windows PC.
TopView windows can monitor thousands of tags on PI and OPC Servers and send alarm messages via email, alphanumeric pagers and cellular phones. The new TopView voice annunciation and text-to-speech technology allows it to deliver audible alarm messages over the phone or over computer speakers.
TopView Data Display and Alarm Notification
A TopView Window for data display can sit on top of other windows, can be resized and scrolled, and can monitor up to 2500 tag values per window. It can be configured to alarm on process value, timestamp age, off-line instruments, value change alarms and it even recognizes complex alarm conditions involving multiple tags and conditions.TopView uses multiple alarm notification methods (text, audible, and voice annunciation), supports remote acknowledgement of alarms and allows custom alarm messages for different alarm conditions.When running as a Windows Service, TopView allows you to log-off a machine and still receive alarm notifications.
Alarms that remain active can be resent to prompt acknowledgement, and the user can even tell it not to send an alarm unless the condition has persisted for a given period of time. It will publish to the Web via HTML, and includes a history log and summary reports in RTF format.
