December 17, 2009 - exida certified the design and engineering processes for the Pekos Full Trunnion and Floating Ball valves as suitable for applications up to and including SIL 3 per IEC 61508 Parts 1 and 2. “The Pekos Group has demonstrated that its product development processes and product hardware design meet the specified safety functions and safety integrity requirements of the IEC 61508 safety standard,” says Peter Söderblom, CEO exida Certification S.A. “The results of the detailed assessment are documented in exida’s SafetyCase tool which is used to determine which specific requirements from the standard are applicable.”exida also performed a detailed Failure Modes, Effects, and Diagnostic Analysis (FMEDA) as part of the assessment.
