Fieldbus couplers meet EtherNet/IP compliance

13 June, 2006
“Back in 2004, WAGO was the first company to offer a fieldbus coupler, the 750-341, that had passed the EtherNet/IP conformance test,” said Dean Norton, Marketing Manager for WAGO Corporation. “Our recent success continues to show our commitment to supporting EtherNet/IP, as well as other Ethernet based industrial protocols.”

Germantown, WI – June 14, 2006 - WAGO Corporation is pleased to announce that its 750-341 fieldbus coupler and 750-841 Programmable fieldbus coupler products both passed the latest EtherNet/IP compliance levels at the recent EtherNet/IP Implementer Workshop: PlugFest #5 in Chicago, IL.

The 750-841 is an IEC 61131-3 compliant programmable fieldbus coupler (PLC) boasting a 32 Bit, multi-tasking CPU with 1 meg of memory (including program memory), as well as a real-time clock and file system. The 750-341, offered in the same housing, is a simple fieldbus coupler (I/O adapter) for those applications that don't require stand alone or distributed programmability. Both products support EtherNet/IP and MODBUS/TCP (UDP) communication (individually or simultaneously), as well as connection of up to 250 I/O modules (digital, analog, and special function), 128 CIP connections (Class 1 & 3 combined), built-in web server, and support for system management/diagnostic protocols (HTTP, BootP, DHCP, DNS, FTP, SNMP, etc.).

In addition to EtherNet/IP , the WAGO-I/O-SYSTEM supports other Industrial Ethernet protocols such as MODBUS/TCP, MODBUS/UDP, ETHERNET Powerlink, PROFINET, as well as SERCOS III in the near future. WAGO is the worldwide leader in spring pressure connection technology designed to eliminate loose wires as a result of vibration and temperature cycling, as well as provide a highly reliable, corrosion resistant, and maintenance-free connection. Our complete line of spring pressure connection products include DIN rail mount terminal blocks, chassis mount terminal blocks, PCB mount terminal blocks, relays, signal conditioners, power supplies, surge suppressors, the WAGO I/O SYSTEM and more.
