Interface improves functionality and ease-of-use of the company's order fulfillment systems
(Emeryville, CA: April 29, 2004) Real Time Solutions® ( www.picktolight.com ), an FKI Logistex® member company and leading developer and provider of hardware and software order filling solutions for warehouses and distribution centers, announces the launch of a new web-based graphical user interface (GUI) for use with its line of EASYpick® and EASYput® order fulfillment systems.Developed to work in standard web browsers, the new interface improves the functionality and ease-of-use of the company's existing product interface, and is currently adapted for Windows® PCs using Microsoft Internet Explorer® and Linux PCs using the Mozilla browser.Improvements in the new interface include increased management reporting and supervisory information, featuring new screens to view information on productivity, order status, work status, workload planning, and data download status.
The new GUI also enables picker productivity to be measured against historical data or against standards set by supervisory personnel. The advantages of the web-based system over previous versions include its ability to be used by supervisors on a PC configured with a networked web browser. This reduces hardware costs by eliminating the need to purchase dedicated supervisor terminals, and allows report printing to any networked printer rather than to a dedicated printer linked to a dedicated terminal. The web-based GUI also adds a change to the look-and-feel, including features like top-tab navigation.Presently available in Spanish, Portuguese and Chinese, Real Time Solutions' new web GUI will be globalized in the coming months to additional languages.
A front-end for all of the company's pick-to-light, put-to-light, voice-directed, and GoKart picking and putting systems, the new interface is currently installed in several Real Time Solutions installations throughout the U.S., with plans for a rollout to customers throughout North and South America." We look forward to the opportunities this new enhancement to our product line presents to our customers around the world," said Stephen Legg, president of FKI Logistex Real Time Solutions.
"This new interface puts our EASYpick and EASYput products at the top of the class in pick-to-light, put-to-light and voice-directed picking and putting technology."
