Flender once again receives the highest award in the renowned sustainability rating.

Dec. 9, 2025 – German drive specialist Flender announced that it has once again been awarded the Platinum Medal by EcoVadis, the world's most renowned provider of sustainability ratings for companies. Flender thus remains among the top one per cent of companies assessed by EcoVadis. After already being awarded the gold medal in its first assessment in 2022, Flender has now received the highest possible award for the third time in a row.

Improvements in all four assessment areas

This is all the more remarkable given that the threshold for the platinum medal has risen significantly. Since the last assessment, Flender has increased its overall score from 83 to 89 points. Results improved in all four areas – environment, labor and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement. In the environmental area, the already excellent result was increased by 4 points to 91 points. Particularly noteworthy are the increases in the areas of labor and human rights and sustainable procurement, each by 7 points to 89 points.

Above all, Flender's excellent policy and audit system led to the EcoVadis rating, which ensures the highest standards for governance, compliance and sustainability. Specific projects that contributed to the rating include the recovery of solvents in the paint shop by means of distillation. Installations of photovoltaic systems, for example at the sites in Voerde, Germany and India, contribute to energy efficiency. Flender employees benefit from many initiatives for mental and physical well-being, career development and a strong focus on ethical behavior in everyday business. These include Safety Week at the Serbian plant in Subotica, Global Learning Week, action days for inclusion and belonging and, more specifically, the conversion of a cleaning vehicle to meet the needs of an employee. A comprehensive compliance training program and campaigns ensure that business integrity is practiced and that the organization’s actions meet ethical standards.

The current result reflects the high quality of Flender's sustainability management system. It covers all four areas addressed by EcoVadis–environment, labor and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement. The company thus not only promotes transparency throughout the entire value chain, but also makes CSR goals visible and measurable, spurring further improvements in all business units.

Continuous improvement in the future

"We are all the more proud that we have once again achieved platinum status despite the significantly increased requirements. As an industry, we have enormous leverage when it comes to global sustainability. The recent climate summit in Brazil has shown that we are on track to miss global climate targets – something we must urgently avoid. We are leading the way in CSR and will remain pioneers in our industry. Together with our long-standing partners, we want to continue driving change towards a sustainable future," said Andreas Evertz, CEO of the Flender Group.

"I am proud of this result because it confirms that we at Flender are not resting on our laurels. It shows how much CSR has become part of Flender's corporate culture–every employee lives and breathes these issues. This anchoring throughout the company is the key to our success and a real team achievement," said Kimberley ten Broeke, head of CSR at Flender.
