May 30, 2017 -- Fujitsu Components America announced a series of resistive touch panels with dome switches that are fully customizable to meet the needs of specific industrial automation and machine control applications. The FID-11x series touch panels are comprised of a film-glass sensor with a flush-surface film overlay that is dustproof and waterproof. They are available in sizes up to 22-inches diagonal, feature 80% (typical) transparency, and have an operating life of 1 million taps. The embossed tactile dome switches can be activated by touch coordinates or be designed with discrete wires for contact closure action. There are several switch configurations available, and the switch icons can be illuminated by the LCD backlight, an LED light guide, or separate LEDs.
To meet the demands of most industrial environments, the FID-11x series has a standard operating temperature range of -5° to +60°C and 3H pencil hardness. User input can be performed with a variety of implements, including a gloved finger.
