April 8, 2010 - GAO RFID 's active temperature sensing RFID tag is useful for identifying the exact time of temperature changes. It is intended for the identification and location of items in such applications as cold logistics in food or medicine. This RFID tag has the ability to collect temperature data in real time and transmit the data to a reader for recording. It is also ideal for monitoring refrigerated items en route.
This active temperature sensing RFID tag, model 127003, operates at the frequency of 2.45GHz. It triggers an alarm if a tagged item's temperature falls beyond preset limits. The tag uses an anti-collision algorithm allowing one hundred simultaneous tag reads and has a maximum read range of 100m.
