This new communication will provide even greater integration capabilities for tension control in web and cable/strand applications. The communications list for the Tension Controller now includes analog, Modbus TCP, Allen-Bradley Remote I/O, Profibus, ControlNet, Ethernet TCP/IP, DeviceNet, and OPC.Using a load cell based, closed loop control methodology to precisely control tension, the HI 3300 Tension Controller optimizes the process by directly controlling a drive or braking system based on the actual direct measurement of the product tension.
