Catalog covers acme leadscrews, advanced coatings and anti-backlash nuts that not only eliminate backlash between the screw and nut, they also maximize system stiffness and minimize lost motion.

January 15, 2007 - Waterbury, CT – Haydon Switch & Instrument, Inc. (Haydon) is pleased to announce a new and improved detailed technical catalog for the Leadscrew Assemblies product line. Haydon’s new line of leadscrew assemblies includes a broad offering of acme leadscrews, advanced coatings and the most technically advanced anti-backlash nuts available in the market. These patent pending designs offer significant improvements over what has been previously available. The designs not only eliminate backlash between the screw and nut, they also maximize system stiffness and minimize lost motion.

Haydon offers five different nut styles – from free wheeling non anti-backlash nuts to a user adjustable anti-backlash nut.

Leadscrews are available in diameters ranging from 1/8 inch (3.2mm) to 5/8 inch (15.9mm) and leads as fine as 0.012 inch (0.3mm) up to fast leads as high as 1.25 inch (31.75mm).

All Haydon leadscrews are rolled from precision ground 303 stainless steel. The properties of the raw material are controlled to exacting standards to ensure the highest quality product available. The lead screws are also available with Haydon's unique Black Ice coating, a specially developed PTFE coating process, which eliminates the flaking that commonly occurs with other PTFE coatings used in today's marketplace. Haydon’s anti-backlash nuts are made from a self lubricating polyacetal thermo plastic. Due to the self-lubricating properties of the plastic, the nuts are ideal for use in many industries including such as medical devices and food processing.

Haydon’s high strength freewheeling nut is made from a glass fiber reinforced polyester that offers high load carrying capability and very high mechanical strength. In addition to the standard nuts custom designed nuts and flanges are available. Haydon is recognized worldwide as a leader for stepper motor based linear actuators, rotary motors, leadscrew assemblies, and sealed switches. The Company, headquartered in Waterbury, CT, develops, designs and manufacturers internationally patented products for the global marketplace. Haydon custom designs and manufacturers electric motors for medical equipment, instrumentation, industrial equipment, machinery automation, HVAC, telecommunications, semiconductor, office equipment, and many other custom applications.

The unique designs provide precise, reliable motors with unmatched performance-to-size ratios. Motors are simple and versatile, making them well suited for customization and manufacturing.
