January 7, 2013 - Heason Technology appointed Tom Wells an Application Engineer. Wells will work closely with customers and in-house design and manufacturing teams for motion system enquiries and project proposals throughout Heason’s comprehensive range of software, hardware and electromechanical motion technologies. Wells has a BEng in Mechanical Engineering with specialisation in mechatronics and robotics from the University of Surrey and is continuing his PhD in Biomedical engineering. His industrial manufacturing career experience includes CAD design and quality control expertise developed in automotive sensor test equipment; and project management, product design and customer support skills in automated high-end machinery for optical disc manufacture.

As well as lecturing, his PhD work has included micropositioning and nanotechnology for the fabrication and use of dielectrophoretic devices used for Lab-on-a chip technologies. Altogether, Wells brings an extensive variety of experience across many of the fields and industries in which Heason operates.

“Tom Wells’ appointment continues our strategy to enhance Heason’s market position as a premier European designer, supplier and manufacturer of electromechanical and electronics based motion and automation control system solutions,” says Heason's General Manager, Jon Howard, “Tom’s experience across industry and university research will underpin our goal to provide customers with the highest quality motion systems and components that offer the best performance at the most competitive prices.”

Heason Technology represents a select number of leading global manufacturing partners, providing a comprehensive range of first-class motion control components that are combined with a full in-house design and build service for complete motion system solutions; enabling its customers the advanced motion control and positioning performance they require to excel in their own technologies.
