DUBAI, United Arab Emirates, April 10, 2007 – Honeywell (NYSE:HON) held its 2007 Middle East Users Group Symposium on April 9 -10 in Dubai with the theme “Adapting to Change.” The event equipped Honeywell customers throughout the Middle East with the strategies and tools to maintain long-term competitive advantage in a changing global business environment. “Succeeding in an evolving, global marketplace requires the knowledge and tools to ‘adapt to change’ – the theme of this year’s Honeywell Users Group Conference,” said Larry Perkins, Regional General Manager, Honeywell Process Solutions, Middle East. “Honeywell gathers customers from a cross-section of industries and geographies to exchange ideas and best practices and create strategies to tackle their toughest business challenges.
As a result, our customers make new connections, gain real-world solutions and long-term competitive advantage.”The featured topics for the symposium included industrial security, third party migration and alarm management. Highlights of the conference included a session by cyber security expert, Nick Amery, on the shifting focus of the hacker community and the risk to process automation, as well as roundtable discussions on alarm management, FOUNDATION Fieldbus and migration of control systems. In addition, the latest Honeywell technology and live demonstrations of the company’s wireless and corrosion solutions, as well as Experion® Process Knowledge System (PKS) R300 was showcased at the event.
UOP, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Honeywell International, provided live demonstrations of its refining solutions.Numerous Honeywell customers from a variety of industries attended the event, including Petrokemya, Dolphin Energy, Alba, Saudi Aramco, ADCO and PDO.
