Fusion4 integrated additive and blend controller complies with the EU’s Measuring Instruments Directive (MID).

November 9, 2010 - Honeywell introduced the Fusion4 single stream controller (SSC), designed for companies in the petroleum and petrochemical refining, storage and distribution sectors. The integrated additive and blend controller complies with the EU’s Measuring Instruments Directive (MID). It features a unique blending algorithm that helps companies achieve the highest blending accuracy to reduce off-spec blends and the costs associated with waste. The Fusion4 SSC helps increase accuracy as it reduces calibration times by up to 25% compared to manual calibration. A calibration wizard automatically captures every device calibration transaction, including time stamp, calibration volumes and meter serial numbers.

A simple dashboard displays complete device hardware diagnostics on a single screen to reduce the time spent on fault finding by up to 25%.Fusion4 also makes it easier to upgrade firmware while in the field -which is safer and faster than disassembling the device and physically upgrading the firmware. To further simplify configuration globally, the full color screen can display multiple languages including Chinese and Japanese. This solution is backward compatible with all of Honeywell Enraf’s current additive and blending systems. “The fuels marketing industry has become more and more focused on the precision of the systems they use to create petrochemical product combinations,” said Henri Tausch, vice president and general manager, Honeywell Field Solutions.

“The petroleum and petrochemical industries can now benefit from a smart controller that not only increases their accuracy but is also faster and easier to configure and maintain.” “In the past, staff would need a manual to configure their controller, depending on it to decipher codes and procedures” continued Tausch. “The Fusion4 menu-based screen gets rid of the need for those manuals and helps users cut field configuration time from hours to a few seconds. Plus, a unique hand-held device connects to the Fusion4 SSC to make two-way data communication easier and to quickly and securely transfer transaction data, configuration files and calibration records.”
