PHOENIX, Aug. 11, 2005 - Honeywell (NYSE:HON) today announced alliance agreements with Infochem Computer Services Ltd. (Infochem), Neotechnology Consultants Ltd. (Neotec), Scandpower Petroleum Technology A/S (Scandpower) and Schlumberger Canada Limited (Schlumberger) as part of Honeywell's UniSim(tm) Design simulation solution for the process industries. These agreements are the latest in a series of ongoing collaborations with best-in-class engineering technology providers who have unique expertise relevant to UniSim Design.
The goal of the partnerships is to provide Honeywell customers with greater visibility into their operations, so they can enhance efficiency, cut costs and improve profitability. Under the agreements, Honeywell will offer:
- InfoChem's MultiFlash option, for the calculation of the phase behavior of complex mixtures
- Neotec's PIPESYS option, for the integrated simulation of single-phase and multi-phase flow in pipes, as well as Neotec's Black Oil option, for the calculation of the phase behavior of petroleum fluids in a non-compositional manner
- Schlumberger's AMSIM (offered as the "UniSim Amines Option"), for the rigorous simulation of gas and liquid sweetening processes
- Scandpower's OLGAS 2-Phase and 3-Phase options, which allow the calculation of multi-phase flow properties in pipes.
In addition, an interface to Scandpower's OLGA 2000 product is available, allowing the simulation of transient multi-phase flow in wells, pipelines and network.
"Honeywell's alliance with some of the industry's top players creates a win-win situation for everyone involved, especially our customers," said Mark Hagen, director of advanced solutions for Honeywell Process Solutions.
"We expect these integrated technologies to significantly impact the way our customers work, allowing them to be more proactive and strategic, and giving them the knowledge they need to advance their businesses."
"We are looking forward to working closely with Honeywell in supporting the heritage HYSYS customers that choose the UniSim solution," said Edward A.
De Souza, President of Neotec.
"Further, this strategic alliance addresses the needs of E&P and engineering customers that are also looking for an integrated upstream simulation solution."
Dag Terje Rian, CEO of Scandpower stated, "We are pleased to be part of this partnership with Honeywell which will provide the UniSim users with the capability to simulate complete multiphase wells, pipelines and facilities systems.
This partnership builds on Scandpower's successful experience with the coupling of OLGAS and OLGA 2000 with HYSYS."
