The building will provide larger quarters for training, a showroom for CNC machine demonstrations, service engineering, spare parts stocking, and applications engineering.

June 19, 2014 - Hwacheon Machinery America (HMA) moves into a new technical center in the Chicago suburb of Lincolnshire, IL, July 15, 2014. Purchased and remodeled by Hwacheon, the building will provide larger quarters for training, a showroom for machine demonstrations, service engineering, spare parts stocking, and applications engineering, said Michael Huggett, President of HMA. The company plans an official grand opening of the facility Sunday September 7, 2014, the day before IMTS 2014 opens its doors. This event will be attended by company officials, dealers and customers as well as Hwacheon Machinery staff.

With more than 20 years of operation in North America, Hwacheon is supported by a qualified network of 25 dealers in North and South America specializing in the Hwacheon line with professional sales and service staff. “We are very excited to move into new space purpose-designed to help us support our growing customer base here in the Americas,” Mr. Huggett said, “and it ideally located to provide that support, from training through service and applications engineering.” The company also purchased land adjacent to the tech center that can be used for future expansion. The ISO 9001:9004 and CE-certified Hwacheon machine tool operations are part of the Hwacheon Group of companies, a Korean public company.

Established in 1952, Hwacheon operates eight machine tool plants, delivering CNC machine tools worldwide annually, half of which are installed in Korea at automotive, die and mold, and machining job shops. A mid-sized machine tool builder, Hwacheon is a unique firm as it is fully vertically integrated, operating not only machining and assembly floors and spindle production, but also a foundry in which it casts high quality meehanite machine bases and columns, and another plant producing gears and chucks. It is the one of the top producers of chucks globally, according to the company.
