February 23, 2017 - Hydratight has launched a tool to make pipeline machining services safer for technicians.
The Profile Slide Attachment has been custom designed by Hydratight for heavy cutting and beveling at the pre-weld stage in combination with the company’s clamshell lathe range.
Automation of the weld preparation process will increase operator safety due to a reduction in manual interaction with moving parts.
The Profile Slide Attachment will allow the operator to carry out facing, compound bevel, J-prep, ring-type joint flange preparing and counterbore work. The device can cut a pipe wall up to 5” thick and bolts directly to Hydratight clamshells.
The larger model can be mounted on all Hydratight clamshells from 26” to 50” diameter and the smaller model is suitable from 8” to 24”.
