Ice Qube has taken our line of industrial closed loop air conditioners and designed and manufactured them to meet UL standards and Entela standards for explosive environments in Class I, Division 2, Groups C & D and in Groups B, C & D in models ranging from 2200 BTU’s to 20,000 BTU’s.These two categories cover much of the demand in the industry today. Our air conditioners start with the highest quality parts available in the industry and are built in our Greensburg, Pennsylvania plant. This includes: 16 gauge welded steel construction and rotary compressor, resulting in a smaller, lighter and more energy efficient air conditioner. All arcing devices are placed in an enclosure that will contain a spark and explosion.
A special intrinsic barrier is used to complete an intrinsically safe circuit to control the cooling cycle of the air conditioner. Units are manufactured to meet UL Type 12, 4, 4X and 3R. Typically other explosion proof air conditioners on the market are sent from the OEM manufacturer to another independent facility for modification to be explosion proof, then shipped to the end user. This made it difficult if not impossible for the Air Conditioner manufacturer to have control over any components added to their unit, how it was modified or any other procedures performed on the original unit. Quality control became an issue.
