Linux driver and a USB 2.0 or USB 3.0 camera provide an inexpensive application for kiosk systems, microscopy, or the ITS sector.

July 29, 2013 - IDS Imaging Development Systems added a Linux driver to the Raspberry Pi for feasibility studies. When the Raspberry Pi is combined with the Linux driver and an IDS USB 2.0 or USB 3.0 camera, inexpensive applications for kiosk systems, microscopy, or the ITS sector are simple to implement. The USB 2 uEye XS camera -- with its built-n autofocus lens and wealth of automatic functions -- is ideal for the Raspberry Pi.

The XS offers the usability normally associated with consumer cameras, yet also delivers excellent image quality both in high resolution still shots as well as Full HD video.
