ifm efector’s ultrasonic flow meter is designed to simultaneously monitor flow rate and detect fluid temperature of water in a variety of process control applications. The compact meter measures approximately 4” x 4” and mounts directly in pipes that are 1” in diameter or less. A four-digit numeric display provides water flow rate in gallons/minute or liters/minute; total quantity accumulated in gallons or liters; and temperature in Fahrenheit or Celsius. The meter’s pushbutton setup establishes sensor parameters to provide three different outputs: switching, pulse, or analog (4-20mA or 0-10V).The meter’s ultrasonic technology is based on the differential transit time principle – the time it takes for a sound wave to be transmitted and received.

As water flows through the flow meter, internal piezoceramic sound transducers transmit and receive sound pulses which results in an accuracy of 3% of the measured flow value, making the meter extremely accurate at low flow rates.Ultrasonic flow meters are 4-wire DC units and available with measuring ranges of 0-13.2 gpm, 0-25.4 gpm, 0-50 l/m, and 0-100 l/m.

List prices for the meters range from $575.00 to $595.00 (U.S.).
