Sept. 4, 2026 — igus, a global leader in motion plastics and automation solutions, will showcase its latest technologies for moving, automating and optimizing manufacturing processes at the International Manufacturing Technology Show (IMTS) 2026 at Booth 236131 in the North Building.
Under the theme “Motion in Automation,” igus will demonstrate how motion components and automation technologies can work together to help manufacturers reduce costs, simplify machine design and improve production efficiency. Visitors will be able to explore solutions ranging from lubrication-free motion plastics and energy supply systems to robotics and low-cost automation.
Among the technologies showcased will be the E4Q e-chain, designed for demanding applications with tool-free opening and closing, reduced weight and improved crossbar pull-out strength to simplify installation and cable management.
igus will also showcase its broad range of iglide plain bearing materials, which are self-lubricating and maintenance-free, with material options engineered for requirements including high loads and temperatures, low friction, chemical resistance, food contact and harsh environments.
Also, the drylin and drylin E portfolio will demonstrate grease-free linear motion and motorized automation, combining lightweight, dirt- and corrosion-resistant linear systems with motors and controls for ready-to-integrate, precise motion solutions.
“Manufacturers are looking for ways to increase productivity while keeping automation investments practical and cost-effective,” said Felix Brockmeyer, CEO of igus, Inc. “At IMTS, we want to show that motion and automation do not have to be complicated. By combining our motion plastics expertise with affordable robotics and automation technologies, we can help manufacturers find solutions that improve their processes and make automation more accessible.”
Visitors to the igus booth will be able to see live demonstrations, discuss application challenges with igus experts and explore solutions for improving motion and automation throughout their manufacturing operations.
About igus
igus GmbH develops and produces motion plastics. These lubrication-free, high-performance polymers improve technology and reduce costs wherever things move. In energy supplies, highly flexible cables, plain and linear bearings as well as lead screw technology made of tribo-polymers, igus is the worldwide market leader. The family-run company based in Cologne, Germany, is represented in 31 countries and employs 4,600 people across the globe. In 2022, igus generated a turnover of €1,15 billion. Research in the industry's largest test laboratories constantly yields innovations and more security for users. 234,000 articles are available from stock and the service life can be calculated online. In recent years, the company has expanded by creating internal start-ups, e.g., for ball bearings, robot drives, 3D printing, the RBTX platform for Lean Robotics and intelligent "smart plastics" for Industry 4.0. Among the most important environmental investments are the "change" program — recycling of used e-chains — and the participation in an enterprise that produces oil from plastic waste.
