PHOENIX, ARIZONA – Industrial Evolution, Inc. today announced the acquisition of the WEB*VMI™ Inventory Management Service business from Philadelphia-based ChemLogix LLC. The WEB*VMI business delivers benefit by enabling chemical and other bulk product manufacturers to remotely monitor and manage product inventories at customer sites, and to integrate this information into their supply chain applications. In a typical WEB*VMI deployment, inventory data is collected from customer sites in real-time into the Industrial Evolution Data Center, combined with proprietary forecast calculations, and displayed on a secure web page for authorized user access.
WEB*VMI provides live and immediate access to inventories throughout the supply chain, increasing supply reliabilities while taking costs out of the supply chain. Customers are assured of deliveries that better meet changing replenishment needs, for both base and opportunistic production levels, while also reducing inventory-related working capital needs. Suppliers also gain a cost advantage by enabling more effective make-to-order and just-in-time manufacturing strategies, aligning production with the latest real-time market demands and eliminating unnecessary transport delays.
Significant value results from the application of Industrial Evolution’s proprietary software tools and calculations, which provide critical insight into usage patterns and forecast consumption to help match production and deliveries with exact customer demands. Additionally, the WEB*VMI solution removes barriers to inter-company transactions through database connectivity or formatted message communication options with enterprise systems, such as SAP R/3™, JD Edwards OneWorld™ and others. In the last five years alone, the WEB*VMI team has delivered these benefits on over 11,000 product storage vessels. The WEB*VMI team now joins Industrial Evolution, adding new Industrial Evolution locations in New Jersey / Pennsylvania and Illinois.
The addition of these capabilities follows years of successful partnership in which Industrial Evolution’s remote data collection and web software were already used to power the WEB*VMI service offering. Moving forward, WEB*VMI customers can now easily expand their basic inventory monitoring service to include real-time remote monitoring of the process conditions and product application at their customer sites. This will help remove the barriers of time and distance between suppliers and their customers, allowing them to work together more closely – and in real-time – on issues of product performance and technical support, opening new opportunities for profit and product optimization across the supply chain.
