September 6, 2006 - Malmo, Sweden - Beijer Electronics now presents DT150, an industrial flat panel monitor with a touchscreen interface. Its robust construction, IP66 front and slim design make it an ideal solution for many machines and applications.

Fit for purpose

"DT150 is a flat panel monitor that is truly designed for industrial use," says Anders Nilsson, marketing manager at Beijer Electronics. "It combines many of the most wanted features within industry applications by offering a robust construction, an IP66 front, a very narrow mounting depth and a touchscreen interface." With a mounting depth of only 50 mm, DT150 is easy to fit on machines and control panels. Once in place, the powder-coated aluminum frame and the IP66 rated front provides an elegant interface that stands up to harsh environments and is easy to clean.

Flexible and cost-efficient

DT150, together with any separate PC, makes it possible to mount the monitor where its optimal for the end user, and the PC where it is optimal for machine design or for service and maintenance purposes. "Compared to using an industrial PC, DT150 gives manufacturers and integrators more choice when it comes to the physical placement of the units," says Anders Nilsson. Today's rapid development of PCs is another issue that makes it valuable to choose a separate flat panel monitor. If the application requires a PC upgrade, or if the PC needs to be replaced for other reasons, keeping the same monitor saves substantial costs.

Inspired by end-users

The frame, the display and the touchscreen interface are the same as for EXTER T150, the largest operator terminal in the successful EXTER series from Beijer Electronics. "We were inspired to launch DT150 by several customers who asked for a flat panel monitor with the same design and robustness as EXTER. Now the product is available, providing the industry with a cost-efficient, reliable, flexible and attractive PC interface," Anders Nilsson concludes.

The EXTER series inspired customers to ask for a flat panel monitor with the same design and robustness.More information on the EXTER terminals is available at: hmi.beijerelectronics.com/web/web_electronics.nsf/AllDocuments/DC8723906008E953C1256EBC0029820E
