May 29, 2012 - INSYS icom's routers and SDSL units feature an integrated sandbox that allows users to economically and efficiently program and execute applications directly on the devices. The development and implementation of such applications however requires considerable financial efforts and personnel expenses. Providing complete apps, INSYS icom now facilitates the use of their data communication devices as intelligent units. Regardless of the specific environment, many applications in the field of remote access and remote maintenance require the same basic functions, such as the consolidation and transfer of consumption data, the sending of alarm messages, or data conversion.
For such purposes, INSYS icom now provides ready-to-use programs that can be configured for individual user requirements.
The first new apps are eDetect and SMS Server: eDetect enables users to collect, consolidate and transfer data. This app is designed to support energy efficiency processes that employ INSYS icom's data communication devices to process meter data for all kinds of media, including gas, water, electricity, and heat. The eDetect app is also available as a component of the eDetect energy efficiency solution that includes a data logger and an online portal. The SMS Server app allows for data conversion and remote switching. It enables units to receive SMS messages through AT commands via the RS232 interface, FTP, or TCP, and to send SMS messages via the serial interface.
Moreover, the app can perform simple switching processes and send alarm messages. INSYS icom welcomes new ideas for additional apps.
