WILMINGTON, N.C. (December 1, 2003) – Designed to reduce noise levels and take up less space in grocery and retail environments, Interroll has launched a new belt drive system. Designated the 113C Series, the new drive features a noise reduction of 5-6 dbA (from the typical level of 47-50dbA to 42-44dbA), and a minimum roller length of 9.84² (250mm).
“We have found no other belt drive is as quiet as our 113C,” said Belt Drive Product Manager, Steve Hankey. The new belt drive was developed especially for check-out stands in supermarkets and other retail applications. Technical changes include improved gearbox performance and the introduction of Interroll’s patent pending “vibration arm,” which reduces noise and vibration in the gearbox. “The Interroll type 113C belt drive has been designed to meet the need for narrower belts in today’s smaller check out counters.
The roller length has been reduced from 11.10² (282mm) to 9.84² (250mm) to fit the new standards,” says Hankey. The new 113C belt drive operates on standard 115V/60Hz power.
The 0.15 horsepower, and 0.20 horsepower single-phase motors provide speeds of 31 ft/min, 35 ft/min, 39 ft/min and 44 ft/min.
