Wilmington, N.C., USA, and Copenhagen, Denmark, January 10, 2005.

Interroll has launched the most powerful 4.5 inch (113 mm) diameter belt drive available for airport check-in counters and belt conveyors in the food processing industry.Designated the Interroll Belt Drive 113E, it delivers up to 0.75 HP (0.55 kW) and was developed especially for check-in counters at airports and food grade applications by Interroll's Centre of Excellence for Belt Drives in Hvidovre/Copenhagen, Denmark.

Technical innovations to the component, which have been developed based on the success of Interroll's 113 series, include helical steel gears as well as a re-engineered motor unit for higher efficiency and performance." Our new product has been designed to meet the requirements of demanding customers in the area of airport technology as well as other industries asking for enhanced power. It is also available in stainless steel and protected to IP66/67 for food processing and washdown applications," says Andrew Haugh, Product Manager for Interroll Belt Drives.

"We have found no other belt drive with a diameter of 4.5 inch (113 mm) in the market which is as powerful as our new type 113E." The Interroll Belt Drive 113E operates on 230V or 460V / 60Hz 3-phase power and is available in belt speeds from 12 ft/min. to 347 ft/min. The shell is available in carbon steel or stainless steel, with a crowned or parallel surface.

The new dual voltage 9-core cable of the 113E is also available in a halogen-free specification for airport applications. Further options include all international voltages, a screened cable for frequency converters, smooth or profiled rubber lagging for modular belting, and vertical mounting. More options such as mechanical backstop, electromagnetic brake, an encoder bearing for intelligent control devices and single-phase motors will be added shortly.
