WILMINGTON, N.C. (October 1, 2003) – Expanding its conveyor product application offerings, Interroll Corp., announces the availability of its Brushless DC-powered Cleanroom RollerDrive. Designed with internally sealed brushless DC motors with greased bearings, stainless steel tubes and shafts with no grooves, the cleanroom roller is suitable for “Class 100” cleanroom applications.

“Manufacturers need a way to convey materials efficiently and with no chance of damage to products during transport and assembly,” said RollerDrive Global Product Manager, Ken Bobick. “Interroll designed this RollerDrive to provide all the power and reliability of our DC rollers, while still meeting the challenge of cleanroom standards.” Cleanrooms are categorized by class levels according to Federal Standard 209E (from class 100,000 – least clean to 1 – most clean). Interroll cleanroom rollers meet class 100 standards because they emit particulate levels (ie. Carbon) lower than are required by the standard.

Powered by 24VDC motors, Interroll’s cleanroom RollerDrives provide extra-long motor life (15,000 hrs +) with high start-up torque (21 in. –lb) and exceptional reliability. The compact size makes conveyor design convenient for tight spaces. While the cleanroom RollerDrives offer optimal efficiency through the use of zero pressure accumulation (ZPA) control cards. This feature enables rollers to only be activated when materials are present, thereby increasing efficiency and eliminating the risk of damage by collision.

Cleanroom rollers are available in a 1.90” diameter. Maximum speed reaches 330FPM for loads of up to 300 pounds.
