Research Triangle Park, NC (1 March 2006) - The ISA Foundation is gearing up to give scholarships, encourage student development, and support standards development in 2006. Through the Foundation, ISA awards educational scholarships each year. Scholarships for tuition and research activities are given to graduate and undergraduate students. Students must demonstrate outstanding potential for long-range contribution to the automation profession.
Since 2001, ISA has awarded over $135,000 in scholarships to 53 well-deserving students.The Foundation will also continue to sponsor the annual ISA International Student Games. The activities are held in conjunction with ISA EXPO 2006 in Houston, Texas. ISA District competitions determine which students will compete at the international level. The ISA Student Games impact hundreds of students each year.
In addition to its contributions to education, ISA will continue its commitment to develop industry standards in key areas like batch control, plant floor communications, and electronic security. The ISA Foundation helps defray some of the costs incurred to keep standards current and to expand into new areas of technology.Hundreds of automation professionals have donated to the ISA Foundation."
