ISA Power Industries Division Announces 16th Annual Joint ISA POWID/EPRI Controls and Instrumentation Conference and the 49th Annual ISA POWID Symposium
Research Triangle Park, NC (13 March 2006) - The 16th Annual Joint ISA POWID/EPRI Controls and Instrumentation Conference and the 49th Annual ISA POWID Symposium will be held 4-9 June 2006 at the Doubletree Hotel in San Jose, California. The theme of the symposium is Effective Integration of Safety, Security, Reliability with Control Systems: Measurement and Control Challenges and Solutions for the Power Industry in the Changing Economic and Regulatory Environment. "Our goal as a Division is to provide a means for information exchange. This conference enables instrumentation and control leaders from private companies and governments, along with vendors, consultants, and academia to network and share technologies," said program co-chair Bob Webb.
Conference sessions include presentations on power plant control systems, nuclear plant issues and technologies, control and information systems security, and power plant safety.Topic areas for the training sessions include basic control systems design considerations and documentation, control system network design, OPC, securing control systems, and setpoints for nuclear safety related instrumentation.
