LONDON, ON, June 15, 2006 - JMP Engineering Inc. is pleased to announce the strategic acquisition of Cougar Automation Technologies, an engineering firm known for its capabilities in developing data systems for manufacturers. Utilizing Cougar’s extensive data experience, JMP Engineering will be able to offer an even broader selection of services to clients in various manufacturing industries. “Cougar’s industry leading data solutions combined with their broad process experience in the food, brewing, pharmaceutical, and oil and gas industries, is an excellent compliment to our organization,” said Scott Shawyer, JMP President and CEO.

“The merging of our two companies offers significant benefits to our customers and our teams.”Katherine van Nes, P.Eng., President of Cougar Automation, will lead JMP’s dedicated MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems) data division. The division will employ Cougar Automation’s Data Enabled Enterprise methodology in the development and execution of data projects ranging from simple Historian solutions to comprehensive Manufacturing Execution Systems with ERP or RFID integration.

“This is a win for everyone involved as it furthers our ability to provide comprehensive solutions to manufacturers. These solutions will draw on a combination of Cougar’s unique expertise and partnerships, and JMP’s strength and visionary focus,” said van Nes. In addition to data capabilities, other Cougar innovations will also become a part of JMP’s complete portfolio of solutions for manufacturers. This includes their Industrial Safety Compliance Process and Industrial Energy Management Program. With numerous new projects slated for completion in 2006, the timing for the merger and the introduction of these solutions is more than appropriate.

“This is an exciting time for JMP,” said Shawyer, “the inclusion of Cougar into our company supports our vision to be the pre-eminent leader in enterprise integration.”
